UPDATE FROM THE STUDENT PRESIDENT, DUNCAN MACKAY Greetings alumni, I hope this finds you in good health. It is my sad duty to report that this will be my final e-bulletin as I now enter the dog days of my term in office. When I look back on the year I can’t help but be proud of what has been achieved, but at the same time we have no reason to be complacent. This past year has been an incredible journey – from the installation of Stephen Robertson as Rector as the other student voice on Court, to the rugby team returning to Murrayfield and winning the Scottish Plate for the second year running, and the Charities Campaign dispersing over £60,000 to local charities. Our biggest news is the completion of arrangements for us to take over the Butchart Recreation Centre after the opening of the new AberdeenSportsVillage. This will see us move into our new home next January and will be an exciting development in enhancing student social spaces on the King’s College Campus. As ever, a lot of what we have achieved has been down to the money we have received from the Alumni Annual Fund. Thank you to all that have donated, and hopefully you will do so again in the future! It’s been my pleasure to update you each month with the latest developments at AUSA and student life generally at Aberdeen. I’m sure my successor, Robin Parker, will do exactly the same. Thanks for reading, Duncan
