FEATURE STORY: GRADUATES WANTED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL | A new project is looking for graduates who would like to share their experiences of student life with school pupils across the north of Scotland. The ASPIRENorth project works with target primary and secondary schools across the north of Scotland to encourage pupils to consider continuing their education beyond school. The project uses graduates and current students as role models for the pupils, giving them an insight into the opportunities which college, university and other forms of education can give them. ASPIRENorth Director, Janet Rougvie, said: “Although our project team are experienced and motivated, we really need graduates to come forward and help us inspire pupils. Not only will the volunteers get the satisfaction of working with young people it is also an opportunity to develop personal skills and enhance career progression.” The project team are keen to hear from any recent graduates who would like to participate or those in an organisation that has employees who would benefit from this experience. This is an excellent opportunity for organisations to engage with local educational establishments and gain positive publicity within the local community.
