The May Festival - Hailed a great success!

 

Thousands of people descended on the University of Aberdeen for the first ever May Festival. Encompassing seven different strands across three days; Word, Food and Nutrition, Discover, Music, Science, Gaelic, and Film. Highlights included an audience with TV presenter Dr James Logan, a cookery demonstration by celebrity chef Nick Nairn and a magical performance in our chapel by the wonderful Dame Emma Kirby. Please click here to read more.

 

 

 

 

Evolutionary Loop 517 is unveiled

 

The already iconic bronze sculpture was officially unveiled on May 27. The artist Nasser Azam spoke about his inspiration and concept for the sculpture, and thanks were made to Dr John Sievwright whose generous donation made the production of the sculpture possible. Please click here to read more.

Over £8000 raised at Run Balmoral for GASTROCAN

Our Development Trust student callers help to raise funds through out the year, supporting things like student scholarships and medical research within the University. Gymnast Ross has Commonwealth glory in his sights

 

University of Aberdeen student Ross Soutar has opted to defer the final year of his undergraduate degree in Geology and Petroleum Geology to devote himself to full-time training. “Trying to balance my gymnastics and university studies has always been a struggle but going into my final year – to try and do both would result in both being diluted,” Ross explained.Please click here to read more.

 

2013 Summer Graduations - Congratulations to you all!

 

We were delighted to welcome our newest wave of Alumni into the fold at the 2013 Summer Graduations. All graduates received a 'Class of 2013' magnetic photo frame as a gift, as well as their Alumni Privilege Card. And of course the Alumni Photo Booth was a big hit!
